Functional Consulting Support
SAP configuration options can be overwhelming. Yes, SAP is foundationally designed around best business practices, but not every business in every industry does things the same way. In many cases there are various ways to configure the same process/ sub-process. The optimal approach is to review and optimize the business process based on the opportunities and constraints within YOUR business/industry, followed by optimizing that solution in SAP. Or, budgets and timelines may mandate that the business process follow what is ‘standard’ in SAP. Both situations require strong business process experience and strong SAP configuration knowledge as there are different ‘standard’ and ‘custom’ ways to optimize (usable, efficient and scalable) the solution in SAP. Our experience has seen where many consulting companies implement solutions that are ‘standard’, but simply aren’t optimized to fit the business process. These other consulting companies utilize a ‘cookie cutter’ approach, and you get what they implemented on the first project they worked on, regardless of what your process requires. Don’t get lured by their titles. Many of them call their new-hires ‘senior’ consultants and their junior consultants ‘managers’ or ‘senior managers’. SAP training only scratches the surface on how to solve a business problem – experience is the best measure.
